The secret to getting anything you want
"Just like magic, middle finger to my thumb and then I snap it. Just like magic, I'm attractive, I get everything I want 'cause I attract it." Ariana Grande's new song "Just Like Magic" may be catchy, but it also has a very powerful meaning behind it.
If you haven't heard of manifestation, this is your wake-up call. If you've heard of manifestation and you've not been using it to your full advantage, this is also your wake-up call. If you've heard of manifestation and you've been using it in your everyday life ever since, then feel free to grab yourself a cup of intention tea as today we'll be re-visiting the basic concept. This will be a recurring theme on my blog, so if like me, you love to learn new methods of manifestation, please do check back for future posts.
Now I'm going to assume that whoever is reading this has either never heard of manifestation or is a complete beginner. So, what is manifestation? Well let's start at the very beginning and that is the law of attraction. The very basic idea of the law of attraction is that we attract everything in this world that we think about. So, if we think about money, we get money. If we think about love, we get love. You get the picture, although it is a little more complex than that.
Now, if you haven't heard of The Secret, then this is your sign to buy the book or watch the film on Netflix. This holds all the information you need about how to get everything you want in life through the Law of Attraction or Manifestation.
Now I am a powerful manifester and have been ever since I was a child, and this just came naturally to me as I've always been an optimist. For example, when I was about five years old, my mum bought me a handbag and trusted me with my birthday money on a shopping trip. Of course, being a five year old, I went into a toy shop, put my handbag down to play with a toy and left the shop without the bag. We got half way round the city before my mum had realised the bag was gone and she instantly thought that we were never going to see the bag or the money ever again. However, I knew that we would, and when we went back to the shop, there was the bag in the exact place I had left it, with all the money still in tact. Another example is when I went on holiday as a child and didn't take any toys with me. The whole week we were away it was raining and all I wanted was some Barbies to play with, given the fact we were going to be spending most of our time indoors, so I told myself that I was going to get some new Barbies. One evening we were walking down to the beach and there were two girls, a bit older than me, who had set up a stall to sell all their old toys, including about five or six Barbies that I didn't already have back home. I've lost countless purses, handbags, phones etc. and always got them back because I believed that I would. I've also manifested my first car, my dream job and many other things in my life. Everything in my life that has happened was never an accident, but a product of my own thoughts. Everything that has happened in your life has also been a product of your own thoughts, whether you knew about it or not.
For example, I might write:
"Money comes to me freely and easily."
"I am a money magnet."
"I already have everything I need."
It sounds easy, but the hardest part is genuinely believing it. This is difficult because, we are so conditioned to be so 'realistic' that manifestation seems far too whimsical to be achievable. But, the law of attraction is just a law of the universe, much like gravity. Just because it's fantastic, doesn't mean it's untrue. People might question then why not everyone who manifests has won the lottery or is a millionaire, and that is because manifestation can be difficult. For most people, the idea of an extra £1000 in their bank account is quite easy to conceive, but it's incredibly hard to comprehend just how much money £1 million is, and almost impossible to comprehend £50 million. That's why it's so difficult to manifest a lottery win, because we must genuinely believe and be able to envisage already having that money and when we can't understand its magnitude, how do we expect to believe it belongs to us?
So start with something simple - a new yoga matt, a free cup of coffee, or a new notebook. Close your eyes and imagine holding the new notebook in your hands, imagine how it would feel, how it would smell and how grateful you might be to receive that notebook. Believe that it is already yours and that the universe is sending you that new notebook your way. You don't need to worry about how or when it will come to you - that's not your job to worry about these things - just believe that it's already yours and that it will come to you at the right timing.
And you can do this with anything - your dream car, your dream apartment, your dream relationship. My top tip is to close your eyes, see yourself in your dream scenario and feel how it would feel to actually achieve that dream. Let's say you're trying to manifest a Penthouse in New York City. Close your eyes and imagine what it would look like, down to the smallest of detail, imagine the sounds around you and even how it might smell. Feel how grateful you would actually be to have that apartment and how excited you are to be living in this new place. Take in absolutely everything around you as you imagine that scenario and just feel what it is like to be in that moment and how that makes you feel. The key component is gratitude. I have always been very grateful for everything I've had and that's why I attract more of what I'm grateful for. I feel excited for things that are yet to happen, and that's why they always do happen. Believe as well, that whatever you ask for has already been done - the universe has heard you and is processing your request. It might not appear within 2-5 working days, but it is on its way.
Your feelings are the best indicator of what you will receive, so the best way to manifest all those things you have been dreaming about is to feel good. Do some yoga, meditate, listen to music, go for a walk - whatever it takes you to feel good is what you should be doing to set yourself at a higher vibration, and to set yourself up for receiving good things.
Once you learn that the things you think about are what you attract, you change your whole mindset. You don't worry about money - you believe that you are abundant and that money is attracted to you; you don't worry about gaining weight - you believe you are immune to gaining excess weight. It's really a simple concept, but because it seems 'too good to be true' so many people brush it off.
Now I asked my dad, who is not spiritual in any sense of the word, but is a very successful musician, why he doesn't believe in manifestation and he told me that he sees it as too far fetched. He told me that when he checks his bank account, he just expects a certain amount of money to be there or expects for his albums' reviews to be 'fair' and not overly praising. He told me that he is 'too realistic' to expect overwhelming success and that he takes everyday for what it is, rather than thinking he will wake up richer or poorer than the previous day. But the funny thing is, is that my dad also manifested his success without even realising it. As a kid, he used to imagine himself performing in front of thousands of people and them cheering him on. He would then feel how it felt to be cheered by all these people and how great it felt to have so many fans. Well, despite constant discouragement from a career in music and being told by just about everyone to 'get a real job' my dad went on to become incredibly successful, toured the world, and worked with the likes of Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Van Halen, Judas Priest, White Snake, Deep Purple and even had the chance to work with Iron Maiden, but turned them down. So for someone who doesn't actively believe in manifestation, he didn't realise that he accidentally manifested his success just by imagining himself in the scenario and feeling all the emotions that came with that. Until I had actually asked him if he'd ever - as a kid - pretended to be as famous as what he became, did he realise that he had in fact dreamed of everything he had eventually achieved, and that is manifestation at its best.
So how much could it hurt to give it a try, even if you're not fully convinced by the law of attraction? Well I have seen manifestation work in the most incredible ways for me and I 100% believe in it, but if you're still in doubt, just give it a try. Write down 10 things you want to manifest, for example money, love, friendship etc. and then write 10 statements for each category in the present tense e.g. "I am abundant", "I attract true love", "I attract meaningful friendships." If you genuinely believe those statements and you're on a high vibration, they will come true. Just imagine how grateful you would be if each of these statements came true and believe that it has already been done.
The hardest part of manifestation can be when something does not come true when you want it to, but when this happens all you need to believe is that it will come true when the time is right or that the universe will give you something even better. At certain times in my life, I have wanted something so badly and got so frustrated when it didn't come true, but the end result came at the perfect timing or was even better than I'd ever hoped.
It's my intention to talk more on my blog about manifestation, so I'm going to leave you with this thought -
How much do you believe in the law of attraction and manifestation? If not, why not and what do you have to lose from believing in it? Is there something that you want in life you'd be willing to try a new method in order to get? And if you knew that manifestation was true what would you choose to manifest?
